Utiliser l’outil de suppression des logiciels malveillants de Windows

Vous ne le savez sans doute pas mais Microsoft propose gratuitement un outil de suppression des logiciels malveillants disponibles pour Windows XP, 2000 et Server 2003 (mais pas sous NT 4.0, 95 et 98). Ce dernier permet de détecter et de supprimer les logiciels malveillants les plus connus, dont Blaster, Sasser et Mydoom. Une fois la détection et la suppression terminées, l’outil affiche la liste des logiciels malveillants qui ont été détectés et supprimés puis crée un fichier journal nommé mrt.log, situé dans le dossier %votre_répertoire_windows%debug.
Attention ! cet outil ne remplace pas un logiciel d’antivirus, il ne dispose pas par exemple d’un module d’analyse en temps réel. Ce dernier est plus à utiliser pour vérifier que votre système est sain et, le cas échéant, le désinfecter. Microsoft publie une mise à jour de cet outil chaque deuxième mardi de chaque mois, disponible soit via Windows Update, soit directement sur cette page Web.
Remarque : la version Windows Update de cet outil est exécutée automatiquement une fois par mois sur votre ordinateur, en arrière-plan. Si une infection est détectée, l’outil affiche alors un rapport d’état au démarrage suivant de l’ordinateur. Remarque : cet outil renvoie des informations anonymes à Microsoft en cas d’erreur ou de détection d’une infection, mais cette “fonctionnalité” peut être désactivée.
Installation Nommé MRT.exe, cet outil est situé dans le répertoire system32 de Windows. Pour l’exécuter, il suffit de se rendre dans ce répertoire et de cliquer dessus, ou encore de taper la commande suivante dans Démarrer/Exécuter : %systemroot%/system32/mrt.exe ou tout simplement mrt
