As Active Virus Shield is installed with the anti-virus package driver, it will be necessary to reboot the system in order for the driver to function. If you choose not to reboot your system after installing Active Virus Shield, certain components of Active Virus Shield may not work properly. The two exceptions to this are the On-Demand scan and the update module of the anti-virus database.
You may wish to print or save a copy of these instructions as this page may not remain visible as you go through the suggested steps.
Active Virus Shield can be installed on an infected computer. However, having more than one anti-virus program on the same machine can cause a software conflict, and result in unpredictable behavior in your Windows® operating system. If you have a separate anti-virus program installed on your computer, please remove it before installing Active Virus Shield.
During the installation, Active Virus Shield may detect and prompt you to remove the following products:

Install Active Virus Shield
Installing Active Virus Shield will improve the level of security on your computer.
To install Active Virus Shield:
1. Go to www.activevirusshield.com, then click the Get FREE Anti-Virus Today! Click Here To DOWNLOAD button at the bottom of the window.
2. In the next window, enter your email address in the box labeled E-mail Address*:, then click the Get it now button.
3. In the next window, click the orange Click here to Start Installation button to begin downloading the software.
4. In the pop-up window, click the Save button.
5. In the next window, select the Desktop option from the drop down menu at the top, then click the Save button.
6. On the desktop, double-click the Setup file to start the Active Virus Shield Setup Wizard.
7. On the Welcome to the Active Virus Shield Setup window, click the Next button.
8. Click the radio button next to I accept the terms of the License Agreement, then click the Next button to continue.
9. Select the destination folder and click the Next button to continue.
10. Installation will begin.
11. On the Welcome screen, click the Next button to continue.
12. On the Activation window, type in your Activation code, then click the Next button.
12. Click the Finish button to complete Active Virus Shield installation and restart your computer.
